Meet my art-venture journal ^^

I have a habit of stacking notebooks on the pile of notebooks that I recently bought just because they were super aesthetic. And later I'd just question myself, "what to do with them?" Duh. They're too cute to be used.

But now, I've come to realize that I should be doing something with them. Well, I can't keep stacking them forever.

So this week, I'll be sharing something that I've been working on for a while. It is an ordinary journal filled with doodles, cut-outs, art projects, and just things that cross my mind while making them. I got the journal from Bhav about a year or more back. Initially, I was planning to make it a Travel Journal but I started making some doodles there. But the paper didn't seem to hold the ink well so I had to switch it as something else.

Later, I used it to take some notes for my blog. Again, that didn't work so well so I seriously thought about making it my dream journal. While filling two pages of my dreams, I realized that isn't something I will be doing for a long time.

*Ted Mosby's voice over* And kids, that's how I ended up making it an art-venture journal.

Now that I think of it, I always wanted to make an art journal but I don't know why I didn't take the thought seriously. After struggling to use the notebook in a proper manner, it had left the remains of the experiments that I carried out on the journey (random doodles on random pages, notes, dreams, and blah blah). But I think that's what makes this art-venture journal so special and challenging to fill up. Yay! I'm so excited for you guys to read this.

I'll be sharing some of my experiments with you. Here we go:

thread/wool art

I learned this technique back when I was in the 5th grade. Our art teacher taught us this cool thing we could do with paint and a string of wool. I thought my journal would be incomplete without this so I had to keep it. Yay!

I know she won't be reading this but, Thank you, Nimu Ma'am! (:

mandala

As I said earlier, I had to cover up some of the prints that the markers had left behind while I doodled.  I required something huge-yet-not-so-huge to cover them up.

I know that mandalas have been quite mainstream but I had this sheet from a Mandala Workshop by Kelly Sullivan and I didn't want to just keep it somewhere safe. I had a peaceful time to myself and the people I met there were as inspiring as the whole theme of the workshop. So yep, this had to be on my art-venture journal. Then I started cutting off the pieces that would fit here. Thanks to the minimal theme the sheet followed, the work was more easier!

I hope that looking back at this would inspire me.

newspapers

Okay, let me tell you this. I don't know why but I have this weird obsession with newspapers and their kind of print // Lol whatever that means.

I think it looks so basic and ... // I think I'm out of words.

Well, so newspapers are my favorite go-to thing and I find it fun to challenge myself to make different things out of it. And I love how it kind of helps me stay on the aesthetic side even if I don't try much. So I decided to craft this thing up on the front page // obviously because I had to cover the marker remains. * evil chuckle *

So these were some of the things I cooked on my art-venture journal. There are other pages that I would love to share. But I'm not sure if I should make a blog post like this explaining everything or a flip through of the journal after I'm done with it. Do let me know.

And I'd love to hear your suggestions that you'd like me to try out on the journal // pretending there are tons of people who read this and I would actually get such comments.

Well, I'm so glad you were here to read this. I'll be back with another post that would cover some more of these.

Until then,
Have fun Art-venture-ing! (:
