I am––
a city: a broken,
frail ruin,
a name: no longer pronounced,
an address: none associate.
I am––
either,
a city unable to sleep,
or a city that was never alive.
I am––
a skyscraper: partly demolished,
desolate
man-made structure,
a gate: decaying rusty metal,
a path: long abandoned.
I am a city that has never been a home.

footnotes
lately, I keep questioning myself more about my own definition. how do I identify myself besides my profession, hobbies, relationships, physical stats and other factors that fall under one's "introduction". it's always overwhelming to question one about their purpose. in "redefining" I try to define myself from how I view my life. in the process, I think I've come to understand myself a little better than yesterday.
