plan with me | october 2018

Hi, everyone!

It's officially October, I'm so excited for this month to begin. I love that it's Inktober season and the festive vibes that comes along it. So here's me sharing the festive look on my journal.

Here in Nepal we celebrate Dashain and Tihar usually on September and October. This year, we have Dashain on October and Tihar on November. Over the years, I've felt like I have somewhat lost the excitement of Dashain ( I don't think I can ever get over Tihar ) probably because it's just meeting a lot of people within a few days. That's kinda fun but it is more tiresome at the end of the day. And I don't know why but I don't see myself waiting for Dashain vacation anymore. I just feel like I'm drifting apart from this festival.

So, I thought of going with the Dashain theme this month just so I can feel the vibes around me throughout the season. 

I went with a simple doodle around October to make it look like rangoli. If you're staring at the roses and thinking it's not february yet, I thought it doesn't need to be a specific month to share love around. We get to meet our extended family and it's all about love and hugs after ages. 

Alright guys, I get that dashain comes with dakshina and gambling (a safe gamble?) with your cousins. But I'm not into them honestly, I want to learn how to fly a kite. I remember my father tried teaching me once when I was about 6/7 but after that I never got to. So for this month, I wanted to remind myself about kites so that I can ask my father to teach me this holiday. That sounds fun now. Alright, I could be getting excited for dashain now that I'm typing this.   

I know what you might be thinking, this doesn't go with the theme. Yup, it doesn't really go with it. But I thought I'd prefer this over flashy illustrations on my daily spread. Also because I don't have much time to spend doodling for daily spread since it's the festive season and it's back to college time for me. 

So I thought of keeping it minimal.
